Recreation Corridor

The Turkey River Corridor is an Iowa Great Place, unique in its geographic size and potential. The communities of Clermont, Elgin and Elkader in Fayette and Clayton Counties are linked by the special, scenic beauty of the Turkey River. In Fayette County, you can walk/bike 6.8 miles of trail from Gilbertson Conservation Education Area to Nimm's bridge.  You can also  paddle the beautiful Turkey River Trail through the county by using several of our canoe/kayak acesses.
